Barnegat Light Osprey Cam #LBI

Our new osprey cam which was mounted in late March 2019 in Barnegat Light, Long Seaside Island, New Jersey. This camera was funded by a grant from the Osprey Basis.

Initially egg was laid all-around 10am on 4/20. Next egg was laid early on 4/23. 3rd egg was laid during the morning of 4/26. Ospreys generally incubate for an average of 36 days in coastal New Jersey. Eggs hatched on Might 29 and June 1. Both equally youthful ended up banded for long term monitoring on July 1 with the two federal and state aux. bands as element of Challenge RedBand, a B. Bay Osprey Re-sighting undertaking.

45/K fledged in the early early morning on July 24 and 46/K fledged on July 29th! The adult feminine will be departing on her southbound migration in August. The digicam will go offline when there is no more activity at the nest and will return in March 2020.
