Any person interested in operating for a borough council seat in Beach Haven in the Nov. 3 election has to file by Monday, Aug. 31, at 4 p.m. Petitions can be picked up in the borough clerk’s office.
The terms of Mayor Nancy Taggart Davis and council members Charles E. Maschal Jr. and Thomas Lynch expire at the conclude of the 12 months.
So far, 3 residents have submitted: Genevieve Cunningham, Colleen Lambert and Kristina Rutherford.
Sherry Mason, borough clerk/manager, stated each individual future applicant should submit a petition with at minimum 25 signatures of registered voters. Each the candidate and his/her marketing campaign supervisor must signal individual oaths as to the validity of the voter signatures of nomination. These oaths must be returned with the petition.
“They likely should really gather a lot more than 25 signatures simply because there is constantly the risk of some signatures staying invalid,” stated Mason.
Davis and Maschal have served on the council given that the borough changed its kind of federal government in 2010. Lynch was first elected in 2016.
