Bengal Players Going ‘Into the Woods’ May 21-23

The Bengal Theatre Co. at Barnegat Substantial College will be presenting the musical “Into the Woods” this weekend.
The curtain rises at 7 p.m. for demonstrates on Friday and Saturday, Might 21 and 22. There will be a matinee at 2 on Sunday, May possibly 23.
The output attributes music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim. It is based on a e-book by James Lapine, who initially directed it when it debuted on Broadway in 1987.
The musical intertwines the plots of a number of Brothers Grimm fairy tales, checking out the repercussions of the characters’ wishes and quests. The principal characters are taken from “Little Red Using Hood,” “Jack and the Beanstalk,” “Rapunzel” and “Cinderella” as nicely as numerous other people.
The musical is tied alongside one another by a story involving a childless baker and his spouse and their quest to start off a relatives (the primary beginning of The Grimm Brothers’ “Rapunzel”), their conversation with a witch who has positioned a curse on them, and their interaction with other storybook figures all through their journey.
Tickets are $15 ($10 for pupils and seniors) and are readily available at BengalTheatre.com. Seating is restricted because of to COVID restrictions, and no tickets will be marketed at the doorway.  —E.E.
