The Barnegat Culture of Friends (Quakers) will host a chat showcasing Karen Reiner and Tamara Johns, the co-leaders of the South Jersey Chapter of “Our Stories – Courageous Discussions on Race” on Sunday, March 13 at 1 p.m. at the meeting home, found at 614 East Bay Ave. in Barnegat Township.

The talk discusses activities on race and racism, which include sharing tales of what the speakers realized about race as children and how perspectives ended up formed by the ecosystem in which they ended up lifted and by subsequent everyday living activities. In accordance to the presenters, “Our Stories – Brave Discussions on Race” is a program that helps make a lot more comprehending and compassion, and ultimately produces much more peace in the world through the sharing of our individual tales.
Reiner is a retired human providers director and co-founder of nonprofit group in Moorestown termed MooreUnity, which will work to bridge divides by celebrating variety and facilitating unity.
Johns is a licensed senior adviser and for approximately 40 years has lived and labored in the Northeast, higher Midwest and Southeast parts of the United States. Her accumulated ordeals as a black female have impressed Johns to assist other people comprehend the realities and challenges of racial inequities. —E.E.
