Chief: Barnegat High School Threat Unsubstantiated

A threat described at Barnegat Significant Faculty late Friday early morning was found to be unsubstantiated, mentioned Law enforcement Main Keith Germain.

At 11:13 a.m., Principal Patrick Magee notified significant faculty mom and dad in an email that the faculty was alerted about a “possible threat” at the faculty. All pupils were being then evacuated to the nearby Joseph Donahue Elementary College.

“We are functioning with the law enforcement division to figure out the validity of the risk,” he told moms and dads.

Soon right before 2 p.m., Germain explained that next a K9 search of the developing and a movie assessment, no weapons ended up found.

“The authentic report was that a university student saw one more college student with a duffel bag that appeared to have the barrel of a gun sticking out of it,” claimed the main. “We are confident following a complete overview of stability video clip that the report was unsubstantiated. We’ll be doing work with the faculty district to debrief and review the reaction to this incident so that we can identify areas exactly where we can enhance our response in the upcoming.”

Germain thanked the Ocean County Sheriff’s Section K9 device, Stockton University Law enforcement Division, Brick Township Police Office and the New Jersey State Park Police for their “overwhelming help.”  —E.E.
