Former Mayor Stavish Remembered in Barnegat Light

James Stavish, a former mayor of Barnegat Mild and a former proprietor of Kubel’s, passed absent Jan. 8, and family members customers would like to share that news with everyone in the neighborhood who understood him. A celebration of life is tentatively scheduled for Oct at Kubel’s, reported his daughter, Jenny Sehic.
“My father cherished Barnegat Light-weight and experienced so lots of fond memories of LBI, Kubel’s and the individuals in the group,” stated Sehic, who now resides in San Diego. Great memories go together with expanding up all-around Kubel’s, she added, “including roller skating about the bar with my brother ahead of it would open up.”
Stavish owned Kubel’s from 1973 to 1986, family members members reported. He served on the borough council in 1986 and 1987.
Barnegat Gentle Borough Council held a moment of silence at its month-to-month conference Jan. 12 in memory of Stavish and a further involved council member who not too long ago passed absent, Fred Gibbs, an lawyer.  —M.S.
