•It’s Monkfish Season•
Part 1: Intro to F/V Dana Christine II

Captain Kevin Wark has been fishing all his life and is a name recognized by the industry, research groups, universities and many more as he is as involved in our industry as one could be. Owner and operator of the Dana Christine II, a 46ft Mussel Ridge, Kevin had the opportunity to show the industry what a day looks like for him and First Mate Mike during monkfish season. When the boat is not fishing it is often doing research or surveying and when Kevin is on land you can find him advocating for commercial fishing, meeting with industry leaders and working closely with researchers all while being a family man.

In the coming days you will see a new perspective and learn about a sustainable fishery that feeds the world – truly. A huge thanks goes to our friends at Lund’s Fisheries in Cape May, NJ for letting us share this footage which was magnificently shot and edited by Cole Griffin.

This brings back memories!! Working on deck of The Pretty Lady, then running it until they shut us down. Finally got to be skipper and they shut it all down. We would chase that brown gold from Wanchese up to NJ. Some of the coldest days of my life were on that boat.
