It’s Shipwreck ⚓️ Sunday, so grab your coffee ☕️ and check 👀 out the story of the Francis! Wait, did we say coffee? We meant grab your wine 🍷— it’s 5 o’clock somewhere! 🥳

On the evening of May 8, 1897, the 2,007 ton sloop, the Francis, burned 🔥 and sank two miles southeast of Little Egg Harbor Life Saving Station. Thanks to the quick response of the USLSS, all 25 crew members were saved. The Francis was carrying salmon, fine wine, liquor and brandies as cargo. Though the salvage company recovered nearly 3,000 barrels of wine from the Francis, reports indicate there were many happy beachgoers who recovered casks, cases and barrels of wine that had floated ashore!

And that friends is what we call a good beach day! ☘️😎☘️ Stop in and see us — we’re open Friday – Sunday 10-4!
