The Minor Egg Harbor Township Police Department is investigating two motor car thefts that transpired the 7 days of Dec. 16 in retail parking tons. The thefts are thought to be part of a bigger ring of multiple motor car or truck thefts that have happened in the Atlantic County and Southern Ocean County area in the past a number of months.
The autos had been stolen when motorists still left their motor vehicles managing and unattended in the parking heaps.
The law enforcement section wants drivers to just take safeguards to safeguard autos and belongings: Never ever depart your car working and unattended maintain your motor vehicle locked at all moments even though driving and, when parked, in no way leave your keys in the auto. Close all windows and the sunroof.
Steer clear of leaving valuables inside of your automobile where passersby can see them. Seem all-around be informed of your environment, particularly in garages, parking a lot and gas stations.
And while these incidents ended up not regarded as carjackings, as the drivers ended up not in or around the cars and trucks at the time of the thefts, if at any time confronted by a carjacker, do not resist. Vehicles can be changed you cannot.  —P.J.
