New Owner of Beach Haven’s Holiday Snack Bar Won’t ‘Change a Thing’

A person of Beach front Haven’s oldest seasonal organizations, a throwback to an earlier time on LBI – the Vacation Snack Bar – will have a new proprietor when it reopens this spring at 401 Centre St.
“I am going to be its fifth operator,” said Eileen Bowker. “This is going to be its 73rd summertime.” The new owner is no stranger to the neighborhood, as her household has owned Bowker’s South Beach Deli and Grill in Holgate for the very last 14 decades.
Bowker stated the Holiday break Snack Bar has been effectively regarded for its “hamburgers, slamburgers and dune fries. They also experienced fantastic alternatives of home made cakes and pies,” said the retired licensed athletic trainer.
Other menu things include a wide variety of soups and salads, sandwiches, chicken platters, fountain soda and root beer floats. Bowker described the menu as a “mix of Americana, dessert and convenience food stuff.”
“An old Islander once told us, ‘If it ain’t broke never fix it!’ reported Bowker. “It is our intention not to change a factor.”
She programs to maintain a grand opening celebration when the establishment reopens.
“With this getting below for much more than 70 years, it has served generations of summer vacationers,” she mentioned. “We’re all energized about trying to keep this summer months custom alive”.  —E.E.
