Southern Regional’s Brown Takes Third, Gonzalez Grabs Fifth in Meet of Champions Shot Put

This time, it was Jaiden Brown’s transform to mark the highest of the Southern Regional shot putters. Of training course, the senior did it when it mattered most, at the NJSIAA Fulfill of Champions.
Brown tossed the weighted ball 58 feet, 7½ inches on March 4. Not only did he location third in general through the indoor track and discipline year finale, but he also eclipsed the major throw from junior teammate Fabian Gonzalez, who topped out at 56 toes, 1¼ inch. For the duration of the former two condition meets – the South Jersey Team IV and Group IV competitions – Gonzalez experienced taken 1st place forward of Brown, who was second equally occasions.
Joe Licata of Gill St. Bernard’s received the Meet of Champions shot place with a higher mark of 62-6¾, when Delsea’s Jason Nwosu took next with a toss of 60-1, and Christian Brothers Academy’s Robert Manse III swiped fourth with a toss of 58-3¾.
In other success at the MOC, the Southern girls 4×400-meter relay crew of seniors Gabby Bates, Hailey Hochstrasser and Shannon Flaherty and sophomore Grace Fessler clocked a 4:04.10 to area sixth in the condition. Scotch Plains-Fanwood gained the celebration in 3:57.04, followed by Rancocas Valley, Ridgewood, North Hunterdon and Rumson-Honest Haven.
In the meantime, Southern senior Kelly Enterline tossed the shot place 37 toes, 4 inches to put 10th over-all, and sophomore Caitlyn Siek competed in just one of numerous exhibition occasions for the indoor MOC, leaping 15 toes, 10½ inches to seize the 20th place in the prolonged leap.
For Barnegat, senior Valencia Gosser wrapped up her superb indoor profession in the 55-meter dash, crossing the finish line in 7.58 seconds, excellent sufficient for 21st amongst a highly competitive discipline – only .18 separated Gosser and the 13 sprinters ahead of her.  —D.B.
