To the Editor:
I generally seem forward to reading your community publication each individual 7 days.
Eric Englund’s Might 4 post on the impending demolition of the Edwards Faculty in Barnegat was insightful (to a place). Motorists in the seemingly countless visitors that passes that building should have curious minds pondering who Elizabeth V. Edwards was. It would have been fascinating to include some of her tale.
The pursuing comes from the Net: “Born in 1874, Elizabeth V. Edwards was Barnegat’s unique schoolmarm. She began training in 1903 in the Barnegat Public Faculty, a a person-area schoolhouse that served Grades 1 to 12 in advance of the Edwards School, then identified as Barnegat Higher Faculty, was constructed in 1931. Edwards became principal of the university.”
