To the Editor:
I came across this indication the other day while out for a wander and I’d like to say a number of issues to the folks who posted it in their property and to all the persons who observed it.
This is the type of wondering that fosters racism and bigotry by labeling a group of individuals as if they are all the same and all think alike. I am a Democrat – but you do not know me. I am your neighbor – but you do not know me. If we fulfilled on the beach front, I consider you might even like me. Why prejudge that I am not welcome – just due to the fact I’m a Democrat?
I apologize to the a lot of households with young youngsters who had to wander by this indication on their way to a enjoyable working day at the seaside. I hope this was a teachable minute for you. This is not the attitude we wish to instill in our youthful generation. While the relaxation of the civilized globe is striving to be inclusive and figure out how we can all function together and prosper, this message is made to exclude and divide.
I like numerous people today I phone them my friends. I also dislike lots of people, not since of their politics, their faith or the shade of their pores and skin, and not for the reason that we may well disagree on some issues, but because they are closed-minded, obnoxious and rude.
So, as your neighbor and fellow American, I’m asking you to open up your mind and open up your coronary heart. Do the suitable detail and take down the indicator. (And, hey, no concerns, I don’t want to be invited to your residence.)
